  39. <p>You can use the AOL Instant Messenger (SM) service on your portable devices such as handheld (H/PC) and palm-sized (Ps/PC) personal computers, and other wireless-communication devices. 
  40. It provides the easiest way to see which of your friends are online and to communicate instantly with them from anywhere.</p>
  41.  
  42. <p>After registering, communicating with your online buddies couldn't be easier! 
  43. Just add your buddies (friends, family members, and coworkers who are AOL, CompuServe (CS2000), or other AOL Instant Messenger (SM) users to your buddy List. 
  44. When they sign on, they appear in your Buddy List window, and you can start sending them Instant Messages.</p>

  98. You must respond to the e-mail within 48 hours to complete your registration.</li>
  99.   <li>Download a copy of the AOL Instant Messenger (SM) software, and sign on with your screen name and password you registered.</li>

  122. <p>When you sign on to the AOL Instant Messenger (SM) service, your Buddy List window appears.  There are two modes in your Buddy List window: 
  123. <b>Online</b> and <b>List Setup</b>.  </p>
  124.  
  125. <p>The <b>Online</b> mode lists your buddies who are online, and allows you to see the status and profile of the currently selected buddy. </p>
  126.  
  127. <p>The <b>List Setup</b> mode allows you to add, delete, and rename buddies and groups.  You can add buddies to your default group:  <b>Buddies</b>, or create additional groups.</p>

  143.   <li>Type the screen name of the buddy you want to add, and press <b>Enter.</b>, or click away from the name.</li>
